Three more people were killed before the end of May. According to USA Today, with 43 homicides May, 2015 has been the deadliest month in Baltimore since August 1990 when 42 people were killed.
So far, a total of 116 homicides have been committed in Baltimore in 2015. “By this time last year, homicides hadn’t hit triple digits,” according to data reported by USA Today.
Murders are up, arrests are down. The Western district of Baltimore wanted the police to back off which they did. Now the Western district has become a killing ground with the innocent caught in the cross fire. The criminal element in the city is running wild with citizens reporting people openly carrying guns. One person described the district as “The wild west.”
If this is the situation now, what will happen to the city if the police under indictment for the death of Freddie Gray are found not guilt of the murder charges that have been filed against them by the city? Will the Western district sink into a “war zone?”
