The title for this blog comes from a Democratic political consultant and former Bill Clinton campaign manager. Not only did he say that Democrats were clueless but they were also easily manipulated. The person responsible for these statements was none other than James Carville. If you are a Democrat who doesn’t know who James Carville is than you are proof that you are politically clueless.
Why would Carville say such a thing? Well, here is what Carville said about Democrats, “The voter is basically dumb and lazy… What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.” Quite an indictment from a Democrat about Democrats!
Are Democrats that gullible? “Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.” said Carville.
The evidence supporting what Carville can be found in videos on youtube and in newspaper letters to the editor. Here are some examples of the naïve things you can see and hear from Obama supporters. There is the woman who was ecstatic that she was going to receive free health care. Another is the woman who said Obama spent the least amount of money of any president in history. There is the man who proclaimed that all of Obama’s policies helped the middle class. Finally, there is the man who claimed that housing prices were rising because of Obama.
Now if you think these people knew what they were talking about then you are one of the 80% clueless. You also probably get your hard news from The Daily Show hosted by comedian Jon Stewart. This is where 44% of Democrats get their news.
“The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows.” stated Carville. They are easily led because they are ignorant about economic and political affairs or in denial about the political reality of Obama’s policies. James Carville was right, “Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth.” It is another way of rephrasing the Nazis propaganda technique, “If you tell a big enough lie often enough, people will believe it.”
