One of the sources cited by the Obama Administration’s criticism of Romney’s Tax Plan was an analysis done by Harvey Rosen, Princeton University economists. He was interviewed this week by Fox business reporter Tom Sullivan about his analysis. Rosen’s analysis contradicted what Obama and Biden claimed. Romney’s Tax Plan would work according to Rosen. When asked why Obama claimed the opposite, Rosen said he didn’t know except somebody in the administration must have misread his analysis.
Sullivan pointed out that the analysis was very “simplistic” and only 17 pages long and questioned how they could have misread such a “simplistic” analysis. Peter Morici, professor of economics at the University of Maryland, put it bluntly. They lied. He reinforced what Rosen had said by verifying that Romney’s Tax Plan would work.
It is a sad thing when our top federal government officials lie in order to get re-elected. But why expect anything else when this has been the longest recovery from a recession in American history with an economy not growing.
